For those who didn’t know, Florida is suing Wesley Snipes for tax evasion. Snipes and his lawyers are claiming he is the victim of his accountants, and either thought his taxes were being paid or honestly thought he did not have to pay them! Not only that, but earlier in the week he sent a threatening letter to the IRS, telling them to back off or it would “open the door for your increased collateral risk”, and that it’s in their best interests to settle this in another way.

Clearly the IRS is not to be intimidated, and they went ahead with the suit. After not calling a single witness to the stand, Wesley Snipes and his lawyers rested their case!

He’s most likely going to end up going to jail, or at the very least having to pay back all $11 million of the taxes he was supposed to pay. Either way, I doubt he’ll learn his lesson!

OJ Simpson is back in jail after violating his bail “no contact” order. He wasn’t supposed to contact any of the other defendants in the case, apparently, but OJ doesn’t listen to that shit and had his bail bondsman contact one of the defendants. The best part of the whole thing? After making the illegal call for OJ, it was the very same bailbondsman that that revoked the bail, which he has a legal right to do!!!

With one of the best celebrity mug shots i’ve ever seen, Keifer Sutherland checked himself into jail yesterday to serve his 48-day sentence. If he was hoping for a Nicole Richie/Lindsay Lohan type stay, he’s got to be disappointed, because he’s definitely receiving the Paris Hilton treatment!

While he’s been allowed to serve out his sentence at the Glenwood City Jail (as opposed to the much tougher and rougher jail he was going to have to be in), he’s still being treated like any other inmate. He’ll be working in the laundry room and in the kitchen, and he’ll have to wear the requisite orange jumpsuit. However. He gets his own cell for the duration, which the jail is saying is due to his being a “long-term” inmate. With all the supposed prison overcrowding you’d think they wouldn’t do that, but people, he’s Jack Bauer. He deserves special treatment!

Rumor has it Keifer packed his own bags for the stay!

Probably due to some plea deal the Criminal Minds cuttie had his DUI charges dismissed last week and was convicted only on speeding chargers. Shemar’s attorney actually appeared before Judge Michael Sauer the very same judge who sentenced Paris Hilton to her jail house stint. The difference is that Paris had violated probation by driving and had refused to complete her alchohol classes and other requirements.

In the end Shemar Moore wasn’t even charged with a DUI but still recieved 36 months probation and fined around $1400. He was also ordered to do community service.

According to county officials Paris Hilton will be released Tuesday after spending 3 1/2 weeks in jail. The jail house spokespeople say there is no set time for the release. Yeah right. I’m sure she’ll be under armed guard, either bought or official, all the way to her Hollywood Hills home. This is going to be a mad house.

Nicole Richie will stand trial on July 11 as a result of her December DUI arrest. You remember she was picked driving down the wrong side of the freeway. This deal might not actually go to trial. Richie’s lawyer says just because there is a trial date doesn’t mean there will be a trial. I’m not sure if he’s thinking plea bargain or stalling tactics. We’ll just have to wait and see. This would also be a perfect time play the pregnancy card if she is indeed with child.

So Miss Thing told Barbara Walters that she used to act dumb and it wasn’t cute any longer. She’s been playing ping pong and hasn’t looked in the mirror for days. Oh yeah her face is very dry because she hasn’t been able to moisturize.

“Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge’s decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff’s concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.

This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.

As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.

I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world.

Late today, L.A. City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo filed paperwork demanding a hearing before Judge Michael Sauer to determine why the Sheriff’s Department allowed Paris to get out of jail when the judge had expressly ordered her to serve out her entire sentence.

The hearing is scheduled for 9:00 AM PDT on Friday.

Okay so maybe crazy is too far but she was(maybe is) in danger of an imminent mental break down so says her shrink.

Psychiatrist Charles Sophy visited Hilton in jail yesterday and the day before. We’re told after Sophy’s visit yesterday, word was passed to the Sheriff that Hilton’s mental state was fragile and she was at risk.

I figured that was in the works when he started showing up at the jail every day. Lots of folks are frosted because she reassigned to house arrest. I can’t say that I am. The point of jail is to deter you from doing something again-something that will harm yourself or the community at large. She’s been cavity searched. I’m feeling like she’s been deterred. I would be.

In the wee hours of the morning Perez Hilton had reported that Paris Hilton might be released early. TMZ is reporting that Paris Hilton is has indeed been released!

TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!

Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.

She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of five days — the normal stay for a violation of this kind.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will hold a news conference in an hour to discuss what went down.

This is getting ridiculous. Shemar Moore has been working since he was like twelves old. He’s on a hit prime time show. He’s so fine I’d take him home-to his house I mean. My point is that he has options. He has absolutely no excuse for driving under the influence. Actually no one does.

After he was stopped, cops reported that Moore “displayed signs of alcohol impairment and a DUI investigation was conducted.” Moore was then arrested and transported to a nearby station, where he took a breath test and was later booked.”

Zoinks. Paris Hilton has surrendered two days before she was supposed to.

It didn’t go down at the jail. Paris’ mega-lawyer, Richard Hutton, picked her up at her parents’ house at 10:30 PM. Hilton, Hutton, mom Kathy and sister Nicky then drove to the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles — commonly referred to as the Twin Towers — where Paris officially surrendered to the L.A. County Sheriff to begin her 23-day sentence

The Sheriff devised the plan of surrendering miles away from the actual where Paris will be doing time because the crush of paparazzi at the jail created a potential safety hazard.

Paris was then driven to the jail in Lynwood where she is now serving her sentence.

Paris released this official statement to TMZ

“I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. During the past few weeks, I have had a lot of time to think and have come to realize I made some mistakes.”

Hilton added, “This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make. I want to thank my family, friends and fans for their continued support. Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail sentence.”

Jail officials are also reporting that Paris won’t have a cellmate-for now.

According to TMZ Paris Hilton’s cellmate has been hand picked.

Officials at the jail where Paris will do time have decided an inmate who is doing time for reckless driving will be the perfect match for Paris. Sources tell TMZ that jailers were looking for someone who they believe will not try to cash in on Hilton’s stay. The woman is already in the cell that Paris will be in … waiting for a touch of Hilton.

Sources also tell TMZ that jailers are already conducting searches of anything electronic — they are prohibiting cameras, cellphones and the like. We’re told a memo has gone out to the staff, warning them that anyone who takes pictures of Paris will be disciplined — i.e., fired.

So I’m wondering how much those guards are making and how much TMZ(or the Star or the Enquirer or name that tabloid) is paying. I’m giving it 24 hours from when Paris arrives before we get a pic of Paris in jail garb or in her cell or eating jail food.

I mean really can you blame them?
