ANTM Might Just Be Rigged After All

Friday, December 14th, 2007

cw-antm09-saleisha-container_009410-32444f-500×637.jpg

Dammit! I loved this show, and while I knew they groomed certain contestants from the beginning, I was as suprised as the rest of the world to watch Heather kicked off the show just before the end. Maybe now we know why.

It would seem Saleisha (this cycle’s winner) and Tyra Banks have a long history together. She was part of T_Zone, which is Trya’s modeling camp for young girls. Okay, so it’s not a modeling camp, but you know she picks out the future models.

Not only that, Saleisha appeared in the Gen Art fashion show on Cycle 6, and later was on the Tyra show modeling clothes. There’s no way the two didn’t know each other, and there’s no way this whole thing wasn’t rigged.

I’m out. No more Tyra for me. Heather should have won, and Tyra could have made Saleisha a model without this competition. Instead, the whole thing was rigged and 12 other girls who should have had a real shot weren’t given one.

PISSED!

Showing Off The Little Schrute

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Yeah, I know it’s not really Dwight’s baby, but I’m still holding out that somehow it’ll get written into the storyline. With the strike taking up so much time, however, I doubt it will, and we’ll never get to see what a little Angela/Dwight baby would look like on The Office. Ah, well.

Angela Kinsey looks amazing pregnant, by the way. Very Christmas-y in that red dress, rockin’ her growing belly at the “Walk Hard” premiere.

Hayden Plays A Hooker?

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

hayden-in-hooker-boots.jpg

Poor little Hayden Panetierre. She’s been saying for weeks now how she wants to be a good little role model to young girls, not act like the Paris Hiltons of the world. Despite Paris having been her friend and “mentor” in her younger years. She’s been saying your role model status is based on who you’re friends with, and then she makes a big show of exchanging numbers with Ryan Gosling, a man MUCH older than her.

And now she’s out walking around shopping all the time in NYC wearing these things.

You’re not doing a very good job of being a role model, Hayden. People don’t pick and choose actions in their role models, like your (not) saving the dolphins will somehow reverse the pictures of you and Paris. And those damn dolphins DEFINITELY can’t reverse these boots!

Regis To Transition Off Show

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

regis-kelly.jpg

Amidst rumors of failing heath, Regis Philbin has announced that starting next year he will move to hosting only three days a week, asking guest hosts to fill in on Thursdays and Fridays. I’m betting the guest-hosting thing won’t last long, and they’ll find a regular replacement soon.

He’s been doing this show (with a variety of co-hosts) for so many years, it’s good for him that he’s going to take a break. And it’ll be fun to see who gets brought on as guest hosts and an eventual replacement. But it’s sad for fans, both of the show and of the man himself, to see him start to transition out.

Here’s hoping it’s not a health issue, and instead is simply a matter of wanting to have more “me time” now that he’s getting a little older.

Keira Knightley Thinks She’s the Biggest

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

So here is the latest Keira Knightly quote about the weight thing.

Weight is a big issue in Hollywood because I’m twice the size - height and everything else - of most of the girls who are going in to see the director for a part. When you realise that I am, at my size, one of the largest actresses there, you start to think, ‘I don’t think it’d be healthy for me to stay here much longer.’ “

Um okay. I understand that Hollywood weight perception is skewed and way off. But even in Hollywood, Keira Knightly is not large, or heavy or twice the size of a tooth pick. Below, I compare a recent picture of Keira with some pictures of other young A-list actresses taken within the last few months. Yeah, okay…
