In Defense Of Lynne Spears?
Now that Britney’s back in the psych ward again and Jamie Lynne is five months pregnant, you’d think the gossip rags and blogs would be spending a lot of time tearing into Lynne Spears. But for some reason, it’s not the case. Instead, people are COMING TO HER DEFENSE! Lynne claims to be super concerned about both her daughters, and it looks like she’s got some people convinced.
“Britney’s on my mind day and night. She never leaves my thoughts.� Nor does Jamie Lynn, who’s 16 and nearly five months pregnant. “Jamie Lynn’s my baby,� Lynne confided. “I’m doing my best. I’m doing as well as can be expected.�
“I love Britney dearly,� Lynne tells Life & Style. “I want nothing more than to protect her and make everything all right for her.� Told that people still believe she’s a good mother, Lynne managed a smile and replied, “Thank you. That means a lot right now with everything that’s happening.�
I’m just not on the bandwagon yet. I still look at Lynne Spears and see a mother who has pimped her daughters out to the highest bidder from a young age (Jamie Lynne even younger than Britney), and when they start to react to the constant exposure (and in some cases paparazzi-stalking!) in just about the only way they can, she’s upset and confused and worried for them.
Really?!?! Anyone could tell you that the amount of exposure she’s forced on her “babies” they’d crack eventually. Unfortunately for Jamie Lynn, that’s happened much earlier than with Britney. And unfortunately for Britney’s babies, they’ve gotten dragged in.
Maybe someday I’ll feel more sympathy for Mama Spears, but for now, I’ll stick to quietly judging.
