Rosie O’Donnell leaves The View.
It is O so official. Ms. Rosie, the lady lover you either love or hate, is leaving The View. You’ll remember the nasty blowup that she and Elizabeth Hasselbeck had this week. Rosie didn’t show the next day though Barbara Walters said it was a planned day off-birthday celebration for Rosie’s partner.
Rosie had been conversing with folks on her blog and gave hints that she might not return. Kudos to Ms. Thing for not playing the PR game and giving her fans honest answers. You can say what you want about Rosie but you always know where you stand.
Barbara Walters issued this statement:
I brought Rosie to the show. Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at “The View.” I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change.
Word on the street is that Whoopi Goldberg is in line for the hot seat. She’s still has strong opinions but has mellowed enough not to make Elizabeth cry-maybe.
We are sure Ms. Rosie has some juicy deal lined up.
Here’s the fight that signaled the real beginning of the end.

I finally watched this video today and had to keep pausing it because it was just painful and venomous. This show makes people so angry and I can finally see why … just anger and raw emotion everywhere between these two women.
It is a good point that they both make about how much of their anger with each other seems to be coming from what other people in the media say about them individually as a result of these fights instead of what they have actually said to each other. The whole “back someone no matter what they do because they vote the way you do” trend in our society is a scary one.
