Taking After Brad And Angie?

Just when you thought Brad and Angie had cornered the market on celebrity do-gooding, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden step up to follow in their philanthropic footsteps. At Nicole’s baby shower, she informed guests that their presents would be donated to the new charity she and Joel were starting up, and that charity, the Richie/Madden Children’s Foundation, is up and running as of today. At the press conference at the Los Angeles Free Clinic, they gave the first 100 “mom to be” kits out, and I’m sure there’ll be more where that came from.

And good for them! They’ve both got so much money, there’s no need to have a baby shower where their equally rich friends give them presents they can clearly afford to buy on their own. If only more celebs would take the hint (cough, Christina Aguilera, cough). Here’s hoping more celebs follow in their footsteps!
